Join Nantucket S.T.A.R. for our biggest event of the year

Join us in being a part of the next stage of positive transformation for Nantucket Sports & Therapeutic Accessible Recreation (S.T.A.R.). Nantucket S.T.A.R. 's mission is to offer inclusive recreational activities that support and celebrate diverse strengths and abilities through collaborations with families and community partnerships. For over 20 years we have been able to provide individuals with identified special needs programs to build their confidence, developmental skills, independence, and foster valuable connections with peers and members of our local community. 

We’ve offered over 22 specialized programs in collaboration with 20 community partners including STARs on Ice, Ocean Adventures, Chopped, Sensory Art, Adventure Pods, and more. A participant’s parent shared, “without S.T.A.R. our children wouldn’t have extracurricular activities and would be missing out on learning new skills, meeting people, and building old and new friendships.” 

We need your help to continue these life changing programs. At this year’s unforgettable fundraiser, every dollar raised will go directly towards supporting program fees, covering our organization's operation costs, and maintaining highly qualified specialized staff. A parent of a participant said, “S.T.A.R. fosters a model of bringing families together. Through its robust partnership with many organizations, agencies and individuals, S.T.A.R has expanded our family’s sphere of enlightenment and connection to the many local gems that make up our unique community.” 

Shoot for the Stars will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 5:00 p.m. at Great Harbor Yacht Club. Our event offerings include the premiere viewing of our impact film, hors devours and refreshments, a live and silent auction featuring a unique offering of one of a kind designed chairs by renowned designers, and the invaluable opportunity to meet and hear from some of our Stars.   

Additional exciting news is that S.T.A.R. is Going Places! We are also raising funds to purchase a handicap accessible van to ensure safe and equitable access to our programs. Your gracious participation will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Nantucket S.T.A.R. and will be recognized as indicated by the sponsorship tiers.
